1 Infantry Brigade is the oldest operational brigade formation of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA), headquartered at Khumalo Barracks (formerly Brady Barracks) in Bulawayo, and historically symbolized by the Elephant. Its first commander was the Vice President Cde Constantino Chiwenga.
