Current Recruitment Campaign
ZNA regularly launches nationwide recruitment intakes. Recruitment teams deploy to all provincial registry offices and army schools to conduct fair, transparent selection exercises.
Eligibility Requirements
- Citizens of Zimbabwe aged between 18 and 22.
- Minimum of 5 'O' Level passes including English.
- Physically fit with no chronic medical conditions.
- Clear criminal record with high integrity standards.
Career Opportunities
Serve in specialized corps including Combat Infantry, Signals, Military Engineers, Medical Services, Ordnance, Logistics, and Army Education. We build specialists.
Application Guidelines
All applications must be submitted in person during provincial selection drives or sent to the Recruitment Office. Bring certified copies of IDs, birth certificates, and academic transcripts.

Solomon Mujuru — known as Rex Nhongo — was the first commander of the unified Zimbabwe National Army. His visionary leadership unified rival liberation factions into a single, disciplined national force.
Lt. Gen. Vitalis Zvinavashe
General Vitalis Zvinavashe steered the ZNA through critical regional deployments, including the SADC intervention in the DRC, elevating the ZNA to a continental force of great repute.
Gen. Constantine Chiwenga
General Constantine Chiwenga led the most ambitious modernisation of ZNA defence systems in history, rising to Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces.
